Boardroom hustle #16
Elevate your mind and enhance your board director performance
Welcome back to season two of Boardroom Hustle.
This season, co-hosts Paul Smith and Anna Byrne are switching gears to focus more on the future of boardrooms. They’ll hypothesise and theorise about the technological changes that we’ll be seeing, the regulation that will come with it, and how societal influences and a rapidly shifting status quo will serve to better the boardroom.
Or listen on iTunes and Android.
The guest on this episode is Amon Woulfe, founder of Collective Minds, an organisation that works with people and teams across the globe in various situations, helping them to boost their performance, especially in high pressure and stressful environments.

Top 3 action items:
If you’re wanting to improve your performance, the best place to start is by measuring your current state of mind. How stressed are you? Do you sleep well? What’s your resting heart rate like? Knowing these things, and more, is essential to improving them. Fitbits are proving popular, but there are more advanced wearables such as the Oura Ring, the Muse neurofeedback headset and the Halo Sport headset.
Our cognitive health declines every single day. Meditation is one of the best ways to reinforce that cognition, and studies are showing that a twenty minute meditation session is best for actively changing the brain. But it can be difficult for the novice meditator, so start small with twelve minutes each day. This will keep your cognition at its current state. Increase your meditation time with each session, until you’ve reached twenty minutes a day.
Remember that the busier your mind, the lower your performance will be. When you quiet your mind through mindfulness and meditation, you increase your performance, improve your reality and better your health.
